Trump Threatens to Attack Iran’s Power Infrastructure if Strait of Hormuz Is Not Reopened

Donald Trump, President of the United States, announced that Iran has 48 hours to fully reopen the Strait of Hormuz without any threats. He warned that if this demand is not met, American forces will target Iran’s power plants.
Trump made these statements on his Truth Social account, writing that if Tehran fails to act, attacks will focus on the country’s “largest power plants.” Earlier, he had made claims regarding Iran that received widespread media attention.
In response, officials from the Islamic Republic of Iran have previously emphasized that any attack on the country’s civilian infrastructure will be met with retaliation. They warned that action against vital facilities could have reciprocal consequences.
In the latest response, the spokesperson for Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters issued a statement announcing that if fuel and energy infrastructure is targeted, certain facilities linked to the United States in the region could be attacked.
These developments come as Iranian armed forces previously showed strong reactions to American-Israeli assaults on the country’s oil and gas infrastructure. Trump’s recent threat complicates the dynamics of the ongoing conflict in the region.
