IRGC Intelligence Warns of New Retaliation Options Following Trump’s Threat to Target Iran’s Energy Infrastructure

In response to a threat by Donald Trump, President of the United States, to target Iran’s electricity and energy infrastructure, the Intelligence Organization of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) issued a statement declaring it has new options under consideration should any action be taken. The organization referred to what it called a “red target bank” of technological and political destinations, emphasizing that any potential reaction could be carried out within 48 hours.
Earlier today, Trump warned on the social media platform Truth Social that if Iran did not reopen the Strait of Hormuz within 48 hours, the United States would destroy all of Iran’s electricity infrastructure. The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most critical energy transit routes and is currently fully controlled by Iranian armed forces.
In its response, the IRGC Intelligence Organization also recalled that in a “regional battle,” it has achieved actions such as the evacuation of certain U.S. bases, solidifying its position in the Strait of Hormuz, and influencing energy dynamics.
International affairs experts have described Trump’s threat against Iran’s civilian infrastructure, including power facilities, as alarming. They believe targeting vital infrastructure could have wide-ranging economic and human consequences across the region and affect the stability of global markets.
Donald Trump has repeatedly stated since the early days of the conflict against Iran that he has completely destroyed Iran’s offensive and defensive capabilities and claims victory in this confrontation. Nevertheless, Iran continues to strike its intended targets in the Gulf countries and occupied territories on the battlefield.
