Pakistan Warns of Cross-Border Operations in Afghanistan if Attacks Persist

Rana Sanaullah, political advisor to Pakistan’s Prime Minister, stated that Pakistan does not intend to impose war on Afghanistan or occupy any part of its territory. However, he warned that if attacks against Pakistan continue, operations against militants inside Afghanistan will proceed.

Speaking at a press conference on Saturday, he emphasized that Islamabad’s sole demand from Kabul is to prevent armed groups from using Afghan soil to organize and launch attacks against Pakistan. According to him, if this demand is not met, Pakistan will not halt its military actions.

Pakistani officials have repeatedly alleged that part of the attacks in the country’s cities and provinces are planned from within Afghanistan; claims that have consistently fueled political and security tensions between the two neighbors.

In response, the Taliban administration has rejected these allegations, stating that Afghanistan is not responsible for Pakistan’s “security failures.” However, critics argue that preventing the use of Afghan territory against other countries is a responsibility that the Taliban must be held accountable for—a topic that has become a key focus in relations between Kabul and Islamabad in recent months.
