UNAMA Official Visits Victims of Pakistan Airstrike in Kabul

Georgette Gagnon, the head of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA), visited the emergency hospital in Kabul today to meet with the wounded from an airstrike attributed to Pakistan’s military regime. This visit comes amid reports of extensive civilian casualties resulting from the attack.

According to reports, more than 400 people have died and over 250 others have been injured following airstrikes by Pakistan’s military regime on a drug rehabilitation center in Kabul. This treatment center is considered a civilian area in the capital and served patients suffering from addiction.

The attack on the medical facility has sparked widespread reactions and heightened concerns regarding the protection of civilian areas and healthcare institutions. International organizations have repeatedly emphasized the need to safeguard civilians and medical centers during conflicts.

So far, no further details have been released about how the attack occurred or the condition of the wounded, but the high number of casualties has made this incident one of the deadliest recent attacks in Kabul.
