Missile Attack Hits Qatar’s Largest LNG Complex in Ras Laffan Industrial City

QatarEnergy has announced that a missile attack on Ras Laffan Industrial City, home to the world’s largest liquefied natural gas (LNG) production complex, caused widespread fires and significant damage to parts of the area. According to the company, the facilities were directly hit by the missile.

According to released information, the attack inflicted substantial damage on industrial infrastructure. Some energy market experts have warned that continued incidents like this could have global economic ramifications, including a notable increase in LNG prices.

Qatar’s liquefied natural gas supplies a significant portion of the energy needs of European countries and several East Asian nations. Any disruption in production or exports from Ras Laffan could challenge the energy supply chains in these regions.

Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement condemning the attack, labeling it a violation of the country’s sovereignty. Doha emphasized that it reserves the right to respond. No further details about the extent of the damage or the status of the facilities have been released so far.
