Afghan Red Crescent Provides Cash Aid to 3,000 Families Affected by Cross-Border Shelling in Paktia

The Afghan Red Crescent Society has announced the distribution of cash aid to 3,000 displaced and affected families in the Aryubzazi and Dand Patan districts of Paktia province. These families were impacted by artillery shelling from Pakistani forces.

According to local sources, these incidents have caused displacement for several residents of the border areas and resulted in damage to their homes and properties. The Aryubzazi and Dand Patan districts are located along the border with Pakistan and have previously experienced similar tensions.

The Afghan Red Crescent Society stated that the purpose of this aid is to promptly address the basic needs of the affected families. The cash assistance is typically used to provide food supplies, temporary shelter, and other essential items.

However, local residents emphasize the need for more serious security and diplomatic measures to prevent the recurrence of such incidents and to protect civilians from further harm in the border areas.
