Snow and Rain Expected in 25 Provinces Across Afghanistan, Strong Winds and Flood Risks Warned

The Meteorology Department of the Taliban’s Ministry of Transport and Aviation has announced that on Tuesday (March 16), 25 provinces across the country will experience snowfall and rainfall. According to this forecast, snowfall is estimated to range between 10 to 30 centimeters, and rainfall between 10 to 30 millimeters.
The provinces included in this forecast are Farah, Herat, Badghis, Ghor, Faryab, Sar-e Pol, Bamyan, Urozgan, Kandahar, Zabul, Maidan Wardak, Logar, Paktia, Khost, Kabul, Nangarhar, Kunar, Nuristan, Laghman, Panjshir, Kapisa, Parwan, Baghlan, Takhar, and Badakhshan.
Additionally, the department has reported the possibility of winds blowing at speeds of 50 to 75 kilometers per hour in the western regions of the country. It also warned of potential flash floods in the warmer areas.
In recent years, heavy rains and sudden floods in some provinces have caused significant financial and human losses. Therefore, timely awareness and preparedness of responsible agencies for managing natural disasters are considered especially important.
