No to Taliban, No to Foreign Intervention: Afghan Concerns Over Pakistan’s Military Actions

Neither the Taliban nor Foreign Intervention
We have issues with the Taliban, but we also oppose foreign aggression against our country.

Pakistan, at best, can be seen as a smaller version of the same behavior the United States showed toward Afghanistan.

For twenty years, the US plundered Afghanistan’s resources and ultimately handed the country over to a group whose hands have been stained with the blood of the Afghan people for years.

Now, signs indicate that Pakistan is igniting a new wave of tension and insecurity through military action in Afghanistan, and it is inferred that this is being done in cooperation with the United States.

In recent days, reports have emerged of the deaths of several Afghan civilians in attacks by Pakistani forces, and if this trend continues, it will certainly not be erased from the collective memory of the Afghan people.

It is clear that one of Pakistan’s objectives is to force the Taliban—who have long acted as Islamabad’s proxy—to greater compliance.

Islamabad has shown no genuine plan to eliminate or confront the Taliban and continues to try to keep this group within its sphere of influence and control.

If Pakistan were truly committed to fighting terrorism, it should help the Afghan people to fight the Taliban themselves and decide their own fate, rather than altering the calculations in its favor through military intervention.

In recent months, despite promises made to anti-Taliban leaders, Islamabad has not provided serious support to them, and now, by pursuing a path of military tension and harming civilians, it has further exposed itself to the judgment of Afghan public opinion.

Even if these actions are claimed to be against the Taliban, aligning with such an aggressive approach is indefensible for any independent Afghan movement.

We have deep problems with the Taliban, but the fight against them should not depend on reliance on Pakistan.
