UK Prime Minister Rules Out War with Iran, Urges Diplomatic Efforts Over Strait of Hormuz

The UK Prime Minister announced that his country will not enter into a war with Iran, while continuing diplomatic efforts to find an immediate solution regarding the situation in the Strait of Hormuz. He acknowledged that reopening this strategic passage is not an easy task.

Keir Starmer emphasized that once the hostilities cease, there will be a need to negotiate with Iran and reach some form of agreement. According to him, a sustainable solution can only be achieved through dialogue.

The Strait of Hormuz is considered one of the most important energy transit routes in the world, and any tension there could have widespread economic and security consequences internationally.

The UK, along with several US allies, had previously rejected US President Donald Trump’s request for assistance in reopening the Strait of Hormuz.

Nonetheless, the UK Prime Minister confirmed his country’s role in the ongoing developments, stating that thousands of British troops are stationed in Cyprus and that three British fighter jets are actively involved in intercepting attacks attributed to Iran.
