Seyaf Condemns Pakistan Airstrike as ‘Hostility Towards Afghan People’

Abdul Rab Rasul Sayyaf, a former Mujahideen leader, has strongly condemned a Pakistani military airstrike that targeted a specialized treatment center for drug addicts. He described the attack as an act of hostility against the Afghan people. According to him, the strike was not directed at the country’s ruling structure but was a clear act of enmity toward ordinary citizens who had come to the center for treatment and recovery from addiction. Mr. Sayyaf further stated that this incident is against humanitarian principles and contradicts Islamic teachings. He emphasized that targeting medical facilities, especially places providing care to patients, has no religious or ethical justification. Attacks on health and treatment centers are also recognized under international humanitarian law as violations of the fundamental principles protecting civilians; these principles emphasize the immunity of civilian persons and service facilities during conflicts.
