Pashtuns in Karachi Report Detentions and Harassment; Protests Planned After Eid

The National Awami Party of Pashtunkhwa has announced that security agencies in Karachi have begun detaining and harassing Pashtuns. Party officials say these actions specifically target Pashtun residents in the city.
In a press conference held in Karachi, several party representatives stated that they are planning street protests to raise a collective voice against what they described as ‘the harassment and detention of Pashtuns.’
According to them, the protest movement will commence after Eid in collaboration with the Awami National Party, National Republican Movement, and Pashtun Protection Movement. The organizers have stated that the goal of these protests is to stop the detentions and end the pressure on Pashtuns.
So far, Pakistani security officials have not officially responded to these allegations.
