International Red Cross Sends Urgent Aid to Paktika Amid Rising Conflict in Afghanistan

The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies has announced it is dispatching emergency relief supplies and essential shelter items to Paktika province following escalating clashes in Afghanistan. These aid shipments aim to promptly address the needs of families affected by the recent developments.
The organization stated that, in cooperation with the Afghan Red Crescent Society, it is working to reach the families most in need. According to the federation, with ongoing insecurity, humanitarian needs are increasing, and immediate support is critical to prevent further deterioration of the situation.
Located in the southeast of the country, Paktika province has repeatedly experienced insecurity and displacement in recent years. The renewed surge in conflict has heightened concerns about the situation of civilians, especially women and children.
While aid agencies strive to alleviate civilian suffering, it is expected that the Taliban administration will seriously take responsibility for ensuring security and enabling safe access for humanitarian organizations to affected areas. Continued insecurity and ineffective crisis management could pose additional challenges to humanitarian aid efforts.
