Taliban Claims Counterattack Against Pakistani Forces in Kunar and Nangarhar

The Taliban’s Ministry of Defense announced on Saturday that its forces destroyed a Pakistani military post along the Durand Line in the provinces of Kunar and Nangarhar in response to what they described as “attacks by the Pakistani army.”
In a statement published on the social media platform X, the ministry claimed that 14 Pakistani soldiers were killed and 11 others wounded in the clashes. It also stated that one armored tank and an “International” brand vehicle belonging to Pakistani forces were completely destroyed.
The Durand Line, which separates Afghanistan and Pakistan, has long been a contentious issue between the two countries and has repeatedly witnessed military tensions along the border. However, Pakistani officials have yet to respond to the Taliban’s latest claims.
The increase in clashes along this line has raised concerns among residents of the border areas, as ongoing military tensions could directly affect security and daily life for local inhabitants.
