Pakistani President Condemns Taliban Drone Attacks on Civilians

Asif Ali Zardari, President of Pakistan, strongly condemned the Taliban’s drone attacks on civilians and warned that Islamabad will not tolerate attacks on non-combatants. He emphasized that the use of Afghan territory against neighboring countries is unacceptable.

The Office of the Presidency of Pakistan announced on Saturday, 13 March, that the Taliban had crossed the “red line” by carrying out these attacks. In the statement, Zardari asserted that his country will defend its territorial integrity and sovereignty against any threats.

The Pakistani president also noted that it is the responsibility of the Taliban administration to prevent the use of Afghan soil against other countries—a topic that has recently become a source of tension between the two parties.

This stance comes as the Taliban claimed to have conducted an airstrike on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province yesterday in response to Pakistani air raids. The escalation of these tensions has raised concerns about the spread of conflict and the risk to civilians in the border areas between the two countries.
