Israeli Army Threatens to Target Ambulances in Southern Lebanon

The spokesperson for the Israeli army has openly declared that the country’s forces will target emergency vehicles and ambulances in southern Lebanon. These statements, released by news agencies, have heightened concerns over the immunity of civilian centers and vehicles.

According to news sources, the Israeli army claims that some emergency vehicles are being used for military purposes. This claim comes despite international organizations consistently emphasizing the protection of medical facilities and vehicles during armed conflicts.

In previous attacks on the Gaza Strip, as well as during clashes involving Lebanon and Iran, medical centers, hospitals, and ambulances have also been damaged. Israeli officials had earlier alleged military activities within certain Gaza hospitals, though publicly verifiable evidence supporting these claims was not provided.

Targeting medical facilities and emergency vehicles could have severe humanitarian consequences, as these centers play a crucial role in transporting the wounded and providing urgent medical services to civilians. Human rights organizations have repeatedly called for adherence to international humanitarian law principles by all parties involved in the conflict.
