Israeli Airstrike on Nabatieh Health Center Kills 12 Medical Personnel

The Lebanese Ministry of Health has reported that an Israeli airstrike on a primary healthcare center in the Nabatieh province has resulted in the deaths of 12 doctors, nurses, and paramedics. The attack targeted the village of Borj Qallawiyah in the Bint Jbeil region in southern Lebanon on Saturday.

According to the ministry, these figures are preliminary, and search and rescue operations are ongoing to recover possible additional missing persons from under the rubble. Lebanese health officials have warned that the death toll may rise.

The Ministry of Health condemned the attack, emphasizing that targeting a healthcare facility is clearly in violation of international humanitarian law. Under the principles of humanitarian law, medical facilities and healthcare workers must be protected during armed conflicts.

Meanwhile, the ministry added that this was the second attack on medical personnel within a matter of hours. On Friday evening, another airstrike in the village of Al-Sawaneh in southern Lebanon killed two paramedics.

Separately, five others were killed and five civilians injured in an airstrike on the Al-Rahabat neighborhood in the city of Nabatieh. Lebanese authorities say investigations into the details of these incidents are ongoing.
