Taliban’s Acting Foreign Minister and Omani Foreign Minister Discuss Regional Developments in Phone Call

The Taliban’s Foreign Ministry has announced that Mullah Amir Khan Muttaqi, the acting head of the ministry, held a phone conversation with Oman’s Foreign Minister, Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, to discuss bilateral relations and recent regional developments.

According to the ministry’s statement, the two sides expressed concern over recent events in the Middle East and condemned what they described as “the United States and Israel’s aggression against Iran.” The expansion of tensions to other countries in the region was also discussed.

The statement further noted that recent tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan were part of the conversation. In the call, Muttaqi outlined the Taliban administration’s views regarding the attacks from Pakistan and the measures they termed as “defensive actions.”

While the Taliban administration speaks of regional stances, it continues to face significant political challenges and a lack of international recognition, which overshadow its diplomatic status and engagements.

In conclusion, both parties emphasized the importance of diplomacy as a means to resolve regional issues and described dialogue as the best approach for managing and resolving disputes.
