Construction of Six Water Supply Networks Begins in Paktika with a Budget of 61 Million Afghanis

The Directorate of Rural Rehabilitation and Development under the Taliban administration has announced the commencement of construction for six water supply networks in Paktika province, with a total cost of 61 million Afghanis. According to the directorate, upon completion of these projects, 2,330 families in the districts of Janikhel and Dila will gain access to safe drinking water.
According to the released statement, the projects include digging six wells to a depth of 120 meters, constructing six water reservoirs with capacities of 20 and 40 cubic meters, and installing approximately 60,000 meters of piping.
Officials have stated that the construction process will provide temporary employment opportunities for hundreds of people. Paktika, located in the southeastern region of the country, has faced shortages of safe water for many of its residents in recent years.
At the same time, several residents of the province have consistently emphasized that public projects should be implemented transparently and fairly across all needy areas to ensure sustainable access to drinking water. Access to safe water remains one of the fundamental needs of people in rural areas.
