UNICEF Condemns Pakistan’s Actions Against Afghan Refugees

The representative of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) office condemned what was described as “aggressive” actions by the Pakistani military regime against Afghan refugees during a meeting with Mullah Abdul Latif Mansour, Minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development. The representative expressed concern over these actions and stressed the need to address the situation of the refugees.

Tajuddin, in the meeting, highlighted UNICEF’s ongoing activities in Afghanistan, stating that the organization is striving to implement more water supply projects in various parts of the country. According to him, access to clean water is one of the essential needs for residents, especially vulnerable families and returnees.

Meanwhile, Mullah Abdul Latif Mansour emphasized the timely and high-quality implementation of developmental projects and called for greater attention to the needs of refugees who have returned from camps to the country and, in some cases, have been displaced. He urged UNICEF leadership to increase cooperation in the water supply sector and other essential service areas for this group.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties emphasized expanding coordination and strengthening joint cooperation between the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development and UNICEF.
