Taliban Justice Minister Calls for Strict Price Controls and Legal Action Against Hoarding

The Taliban’s Justice Minister emphasized strict market monitoring and legal prosecution of hoarders during a meeting with members of the commission responsible for controlling raw material prices and preventing hoarding. He stated that facilitating ease for the people under difficult economic conditions is the regime’s responsibility, and relevant agencies must take concrete measures in this regard.
Sheikh Abdul Hakim Shari highlighted that curbing price hikes and preventing hoarding requires joint cooperation between the public and government offices. According to him, hoarders should be identified and prosecuted in accordance with the law.
He also announced the Ministry of Justice’s readiness to coordinate between the mentioned commission and relevant unions and added that the ministry will strive to remove obstacles in the market regulation process.
Meanwhile, officials from the commission for preventing hoarding and controlling raw material prices said the agency is working in coordination with relevant offices and traders to maintain price stability in the market. However, citizens have repeatedly complained in recent months about rising raw material prices in several provinces, a matter that calls for practical and transparent actions by the Taliban administration to support the country’s residents.
