Qatar: Efforts Continue to Halt Iran’s Attacks and Reduce Regional Tensions
A spokesperson for Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that leaders of several countries are seriously working to stop Iran’s attacks and initiate a process to reduce tensions in the region. He emphasized that the current main focus is on preventing the escalation of conflicts and containing the existing situation.
Majid Al Ansari, referring to diplomatic contacts, said that since the beginning of the war, there has been only one communication between the Prime Minister of Qatar and Iran’s Foreign Minister. According to him, despite limited contacts, communication channels remain open, and Doha is trying to use these channels to ease tensions.
The Qatari official added that his country still believes in diplomacy and welcomes any party that can play a role in ending the war. He did not provide further details about the involved parties or specific initiatives.
Al Ansari also noted that Doha remains committed to its obligations toward its trade partners, although current circumstances have led to the suspension of some activities. Qatar, which has played a mediating role in some regional conflicts in recent years, once again emphasized the use of political solutions to contain the crisis.
