Man Arrested for Killing Wife in Farah’s Gulistan District

Security officials in Farah province have announced the arrest of a man accused of murdering his wife in the Gulistan district of the province. According to the police, the incident occurred in the western region of the country, and the suspect was apprehended after shooting.
In a statement released by the Taliban-led police command, the suspect, named “Ismail,” is a resident of Gulistan district. The statement indicated that he shot his wife using a Kalashnikov rifle, resulting in her death.
Police said security forces went to the scene after receiving reports and arrested the accused. No further details have been disclosed regarding the motive behind the murder.
This incident comes amid rising cases of domestic violence and killings stemming from internal disputes in several provinces of the country—a concern repeatedly raised by human rights organizations, which have called for preventive measures and serious investigations by the Taliban administration.
