Afghan Chargé d’Affaires in Malaysia Meets with Foreign Ministry Official to Boost Bilateral Ties

The Chargé d’Affaires of Afghanistan in Malaysia has met with the Head of the Central and South Asia Department at the Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to discuss expanding bilateral relations, economic and social cooperation, and creating job opportunities for Afghan citizens.
According to a statement posted on the Afghan embassy’s X (formerly Twitter) page, Naqibullah Ahmadi, the Chargé d’Affaires operating under the Taliban administration in Kuala Lumpur, met with Oghli Nur Yanti and exchanged views on developing interactions between Kabul and Kuala Lumpur.
The embassy’s statement indicated that both parties, while exploring ways to strengthen their relations, emphasized providing job opportunities for Afghans and offering more facilities to Afghan residents living in Malaysia. Recent regional developments were also among the key topics discussed.
During the meeting, the importance of expanding trade cooperation between the two countries was underscored, with both sides expressing hope that economic exchanges would increase. In recent years, the Taliban administration has sought to enhance economic relations with regional and Southeast Asian countries through its diplomatic missions—a matter considered crucial for improving the conditions of migrants and alleviating the unemployment crisis within Afghanistan.
