Continued Clashes Between Taliban and Pakistan Displace Hundreds of Families in Nangarhar

Ongoing clashes between Taliban forces and Pakistan have forced hundreds of families in Nangarhar province to flee their homes. Local sources report that these families are currently residing in a temporary camp in the Behsood district, facing severe shortages of basic necessities.

According to sources, residents from the border areas of Dor Baba, Nazyan, Achin, Goshta, Momand Dara, and Haska Mina districts have been displaced due to air and rocket attacks by Pakistan. The displaced say their homes have been destroyed, and all their belongings lost.

Some of the displaced describe their living conditions in tents as “difficult and worrisome,” stressing the urgent need for food and non-food aid. They say that with the cold weather and lack of sufficient facilities, women and children are in a particularly vulnerable situation.

Meanwhile, Quraishi Badloon, head of information at the Taliban’s Department of Information and Culture in Nangarhar, stated that the Red Crescent and several charitable organizations have begun relief efforts, and international organizations’ aid is expected to be distributed in the coming days.

The conflict between the Taliban administration and Pakistan has lasted for more than a week. According to United Nations statistics, 185 civilians in Afghanistan have been killed or injured due to these clashes, and over 20,000 families have been displaced. This figure has raised concerns about the Taliban administration’s ability to ensure security in border areas and protect civilians.
