Taliban’s Acting Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi Calls for Halt to Regional Conflicts and Urges Pakistan to Reconsider Policies

Amir Khan Muttaqi, acting foreign minister of the Taliban administration, has called for an end to the recent wave of conflicts in the region, particularly in the Middle East, stressing that disputes should be resolved through diplomacy and with respect for the national sovereignty of countries.
He made these remarks during an iftar event attended by ambassadors from several countries at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters in Kabul. According to Muttaqi, instead of what he termed ‘imposed policies and military actions,’ dialogue and political solutions must be prioritized.
The acting foreign minister also urged Pakistan’s military government to reconsider its calculations and approach towards Afghanistan. He did not provide further details on specific points of contention, but relations between Kabul and Islamabad have been tense in recent months.
Muttaqi went on to say that the Afghan people have historically never yielded to pressures and have paid a heavy price for their country’s freedom. These remarks come as the Taliban administration continues to face political and regional challenges, with many observers emphasizing the need for responsible engagement and tension reduction to ensure regional stability.
