Japan Calls for Immediate De-escalation of Tensions Between Iran and the US

Japan’s Foreign Minister has urged an immediate reduction in tensions and an end to conflicts among Iran, the United States, and Israel during a phone call with his Iranian counterpart. Tokyo has warned that the continuation of the current situation could further undermine regional stability.

According to Kyodo News Agency, on Monday, Japan’s Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi consulted with Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araqchi about recent developments in the region. During the call, the necessity of preventing the escalation of conflicts was emphasized.

A statement issued by Tokyo noted that ongoing clashes between Iran, the US, and Israel have worsened the regional situation and heightened concerns over stability and security. The Japanese Foreign Minister called for a swift reduction of tensions.

Additionally, the Japanese government stated that it will cooperate with the international community to address issues related to Iran and continue necessary diplomatic efforts. Japan has consistently stressed the role of dialogue and political solutions in managing regional crises.
