Taliban Defense Minister Warns Pakistan: Instability in Kabul Will Threaten Islamabad Too

Mullah Yaqoob, the Taliban’s Defense Minister, issued his first official response to recent attacks from Pakistan, warning that if Kabul becomes insecure, Islamabad will face a similar fate. He urged Pakistan to halt attacks on Afghanistan, particularly targeting Kabul.

The Taliban defense chief also claimed that the group is prepared for a long-term war, stating that even if the conflict lasts for ten years, their forces will be ready. These remarks come amid an unprecedented escalation in tensions between the two sides in recent weeks.

According to reports, over the past two weeks, the Pakistani military has conducted multiple airstrikes in several Afghan provinces, including Kabul. In retaliation, the Taliban administration claims to have carried out drone attacks and targeted several Pakistani border posts.

The escalation of these clashes has raised serious concerns about the safety of residents in border areas and major cities. With the Taliban administration responsible for nationwide security, ongoing military tensions with Pakistan could further destabilize both security and the economy, placing ordinary citizens at greater risk.
