Taliban Official Vows to Make Afghanistan Competitive Globally Amid Ongoing Challenges

Mawlawi Sharafuddin Muslim, Deputy of Planning and Policy at the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development under the Taliban administration, announced during a tree-planting campaign across Kabul that the administration is determined to bring Afghanistan on par with the world in all fields. He said that efforts toward this goal are progressing rapidly.
He also referenced recent attacks by Pakistan on Afghan soil, stating that the “enemy” cannot tolerate the current situation in the country, the implementation of development projects, and what he described as “standing on its own feet.” According to this Taliban official, Afghanistan has entered a new phase after years of war and instability.
These remarks come while the Taliban administration has repeatedly spoken of progress in various sectors, yet both domestic and international organizations continue to express concern over widespread restrictions, political isolation, and economic challenges in the country. Many experts believe that achieving regional and global competitiveness requires sustained stability, broad international engagement, and the establishment of accountable governance structures.
