Pakistani Attacks on Paktia and Paktika Cause Civilian Casualties and Severe Damage

In the past 24 hours, Pakistani forces have launched attacks on the border districts of Paktia, Paktika, and Khost, causing several civilian casualties and heavy damage to civilian infrastructure. Taliban administration sources have confirmed that these attacks targeted residents’ homes, markets, and public places.
Mullah Hamdullah Fetrat, Deputy Spokesperson of the Taliban administration, stated that in the districts of Chamkani and Patan in Paktia province, one person was killed and another wounded. According to him, the incidents resulted in the destruction of 10 homes, 14 shops, two markets, and one mosque.
Similarly, in the districts of Bermal and Shkin in Paktika province, similar attacks have led to the deaths of two civilians and the destruction of six homes and several shops. Residents of these areas have said that the shelling has caused extensive financial damage to the people and has increased an atmosphere of fear and distrust.
In Khost province, the districts of Alisher and Terezayi were also targeted, where according to provided information, one civilian lost their life and two others were injured.
The increase in attacks along the border line continues amid repeated complaints from residents about the lack of effective security measures. This ongoing situation has heightened concerns regarding the protection of civilians and the responsibility of the Taliban administration to ensure security in the border areas.
