Head of Taliban-Run National Radio TV: War is Won by Commitment, Not Fear

Qari Mohammad Yousuf Ahmadi, Director General of the Taliban-run National Radio Television, stated in a special interview that, in his view, “war is won through commitment and spirit, not through fear and oppression.” He criticized what he described as Pakistan’s war policy.

In the interview, he called Pakistan’s military policies towards Afghanistan ‘cowardly’ and claimed that the people of Pakistan oppose the approach of their military and desire an end to the conflicts with Afghanistan. This comes amid long-standing tensions along the border line between the two countries, which have consistently caused concern for residents in the border areas.

The head of National Radio Television also alleged that Pakistan has not provided any evidence or documents to justify their seizure of Afghan military outposts. He described the achievements claimed by the Pakistani army in the clashes as ‘imaginary.’

Ahmadi further stated that continuing the war would be detrimental to Pakistan; however, he asserted that ‘all Afghans’ stand alongside the Taliban administration— a claim that independent observers cannot verify given the current extensive political and social restrictions in the country.

Verbal tensions between officials on both sides have increased while border area residents have repeatedly expressed concerns about the human and economic consequences of the conflicts, calling for a reduction in tensions and the pursuit of political solutions.
