Russia Warns of Middle East Conflict’s Impact on European Energy Security

The spokesperson for Russia’s Foreign Ministry has warned that the ongoing conflicts in the Middle East could have extensive consequences for Europe, particularly in the energy sector. According to her, instability in the region directly affects the structure of Europe’s energy supply.
Maria Zakharova emphasized in statements released to the media that escalating tensions in the Middle East increase the risk of collapse in Europe’s energy sector. Europe has faced multiple challenges in energy supply in recent years, and any new crisis could further complicate the situation.
She also referred to Iran’s nuclear program, noting that the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has repeatedly stated there is no reason to abandon dialogue with Iran. She suggested that continuing negotiations could prevent a rise in tensions.
Zakharova further described the United States’ withdrawal from the nuclear deal as a serious blow to regional stability and security. The nuclear agreement, designed to reduce tensions and monitor Iran’s nuclear activities, has faced significant challenges since the US exit.
