Scott Ritter Says US Attack on Iran Backfired, Strengthening Internal Support for Tehran

Scott Ritter, a military analyst and former US Navy intelligence officer, stated that the United States’ military action against Iran did not achieve Washington’s desired outcomes and instead produced unintended consequences.

According to international media reports, Ritter said the objective of this action was to incite domestic dissatisfaction and bring people onto the streets. However, he noted that the widespread public attendance at mourning ceremonies demonstrated that the internal atmosphere in Iran developed contrary to the expectations of the policy architects.

He also claimed that with increased military pressure, popular support for Iran’s political system has grown. According to Ritter, the response of Iran’s military forces was unpredictable for both the US and Israel.

Ritter further added that Iran had been preparing for such a confrontation for years, coinciding with escalating threats from American officials, and these preparations have now come into effect. These remarks come amid ongoing tensions in the Middle East, which remain a focal point in global political and security discussions.
