Taliban Imposes Unusual Restrictions on Commemoration of Martyr Leader Khamenei in Kabul and Blocks Similar Event in Herat

Yesterday, the Taliban imposed extensive and unusual restrictions on the commemorative ceremony for the martyred leader of the Islamic Ummah, Grand Ayatollah Khamenei, in Kabul, and prevented a similar event in Herat following the announcement.

The meeting in Kabul, organized by the Shia Scholars Council, not only barred media presence but also prohibited taking photos or videos with mobile phones.

However, such treatment by the Taliban towards the position of the martyred leader of the Islamic Ummah was not unexpected, even if the organizing body was an institution like the Shia Scholars Council, which over the past five years has refrained from any collaboration with this vile group.

The Taliban are Salafists, and in Salafist ideology, the foremost enemy is the Shia, not the United States or Israel.

Just as Julani in Syria has the capacity for collaboration and cooperation with the US and Israel, the Taliban in Afghanistan possess similar capabilities; and certainly, both relentlessly seize any opportunity to act hostilely toward the Shia.

The Taliban’s animosity towards the Shia became evident with the martyrdom of the Master of Martyrs of Resistance in Lebanon and has now reached its peak with the martyrdom of the leader of the Islamic Ummah.

In a world where freedom-loving people mourn the martyrdom of the standard-bearer against arrogance, Amir Khan Muttaqi is not even willing to use the word “martyr” for the beloved and martyred leader of the Ummah when speaking with Abbas Araghchi.

The martyrdom of the leader of the Islamic Ummah is a heavy and painful loss for freedom-seekers worldwide. Yet when a unique leader like the martyred Khamenei embraces a bloody and honorable death with unwavering steadfastness and unmatched courage, the blessings of his pure and sacred blood will encompass society. Among these blessings is the purification and sorting of the true from the false.

There is a great difference between the martyrdom of our martyred Imam, who, a week before his martyrdom, declared like his oppressed ancestor, “There is no one like me who will pledge allegiance to Yazid,” and then firmly and powerfully stood against his enemy, and someone who, to survive enemy attacks, wandered through the back alleys of Tora Bora and the caves of Zabul, Paktia, and Paktika, ultimately losing his life disgracefully in a cramped, dark, and fearful hideout.

Furthermore, there is a vast difference between the children of the martyred Khamenei, who even after his martyrdom, instead of mourning, have struck down their enemies with iron fists and turned the land from the Nile to the azure Persian Gulf into a killing ground for oppressors, and the successor who came to power through begging and servitude to the United States.

God grants honor to the righteous of His Ummah, not to vile and corrupt people. With God’s help, after passing through this historic confrontation with the vilest people in history, the Shia will also hold accountable the smaller nests of corruption, God willing.
