Taliban’s Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund Condoles Iran on Ayatollah Khamenei’s Martyrdom

The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Kabul announced that Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund, the Prime Minister of the Taliban administration, has sent a condolence message to Masoud Pezeshkian, the president of Iran, mourning the martyrdom of Ayatollah Khamenei, the leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The embassy disclosed on Thursday, 14th of Hut, via a post on the social media platform X, that the condolence message was sent. According to the announcement, the message of condolences was in response to recent events and as an expression of sympathy with the government and people of Iran.
Ayatollah Khamenei was martyred on Saturday this week during the first wave of attacks by the United States of America and Israel. Iranian officials had previously confirmed the details of this incident.
Although the Taliban administration has yet to release an official separate statement on the matter, several officials from the administration have expressed their condolences and sympathy through phone calls and in-person meetings with Iranian officials.
