Iranian President Emphasizes Respect for Regional Sovereignty Amid Rising Tensions

Masoud Pezeshkian, Iranian President, addressed regional leaders in a message stating that Tehran has tried to prevent war through diplomacy and cooperation with neighboring countries. However, he said, the ‘American-Zionist military attack’ has forced Iran to defend itself.

Pezeshkian shared these remarks on his account on the X social network, addressing the ‘heads of friendly and neighboring countries,’ emphasizing that Iran continues to respect the sovereignty of regional states.

He further stressed that, from Tehran’s viewpoint, the maintenance of stability and peace in the region should be achieved by the countries within the region themselves, a principle Iran steadfastly believes in.

This message comes amid escalating tensions between Iran and the United States in recent days following the US and Israeli military incursions into Iranian territory. Regional developments are being closely monitored by various actors with heightened sensitivity.
