Taliban Claims Downing of Pakistani Reconnaissance Drone in Nangarhar

The Taliban administration’s Khalid bin Walid 201 Corps announced that forces at a post in Lal Pur district of Nangarhar province targeted and destroyed a reconnaissance drone belonging to the Pakistani army.

According to the source, the incident occurred last night in the Nazarkhilo Lachi area. Taliban security officials claimed that the drone intended to identify and target their forces’ positions.

The released statement stated that the drone crashed after being fired upon and caught fire. However, no images or independent evidence have been published so far to verify this claim, and Pakistani officials have not responded to the matter.

Nangarhar province, bordering Pakistan along the Durand Line, has witnessed numerous border tensions and security incidents in recent years. Previously, both sides accused each other of airspace violations and military activities in border areas—allegations that are often made without detailed information or impartial investigations.
