Taliban Accuse Pakistani Forces of Targeting Civilians Amid Ongoing Clashes

Mullah Hamdullah Fetrat, deputy spokesperson for the Taliban administration, has stated that clashes with Pakistan continue, alleging that Pakistani forces have targeted civilians. He claimed that Pakistani troops are unable to confront Afghan security forces directly.

Fetrat said that recent attacks have caused financial and human losses to civilians. However, he did not provide specific details about the number of casualties or the exact locations of the incidents.

According to the Taliban deputy spokesperson, Afghan security forces will continue fighting until what he called the “invasion” is stopped. He also called on the international community to condemn Pakistan’s actions and support the people of Afghanistan.

Fetrat emphasized that political efforts have been made to reduce tensions between the two sides, and the Taliban administration does not seek war; however, he alleged that the opposing side aims to destabilize the region. This comes amid rising tensions along the Durand Line in recent months, which have raised concerns among residents in the border areas.

He also said that the Taliban administration does not support the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) or any other group, considering such matters to be internal Pakistani issues. Despite these claims, ongoing tensions between the two parties indicate that the absence of a transparent and accountable mechanism to manage disputes continues to fuel insecurity and worries among people on both sides of the border.
