Three Dead in Pakistani Missile Attack on Earthquake Victims’ Camp in Kunar

The Norwegian Refugee Council has reported that a Pakistani missile attack on a camp sheltering earthquake victims in Kunar province has killed three people and injured seven others. According to the council, this incident has once again rendered several vulnerable families displaced and homeless.

On Wednesday, March 3, the council posted on X that the missile struck a shelter where people had taken refuge following the August 2025 earthquake. These individuals had already lost their homes due to a natural disaster earlier.

According to provided information, the attack forced 650 families to leave their living areas. The Norwegian Refugee Council warned that many of these families are now living without shelter or access to basic life services.

The statement emphasized that civilians must be protected and shielded from further harm. Given the fragile security situation in some eastern regions of the country, aid organizations have called for immediate attention to the needs of the displaced.

Meanwhile, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) announced that since the start of the conflict, 8,400 people have been displaced. The increase in displaced persons comes as humanitarian capacity in many areas remains limited, with affected families facing shortages of basic necessities.
