Taliban Acting Foreign Minister Metqi and Iran’s Iraqchi Discuss Recent Regional Developments in Phone Call

The Taliban administration’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Mawlawi Amir Khan Metqi, acting head of the ministry, held a telephone conversation with Dr. Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, to discuss recent developments and the current situation in the region.

According to the released statement, Metqi expressed his concerns about recent events and condemned the attacks by the United States and Israel against the Islamic Republic of Iran. He also offered condolences and sympathy to the Iranian government and people concerning the targeting of Iran’s Supreme Leader.

During the conversation, the acting foreign minister of the Taliban administration emphasized that violations of national sovereignty and territorial integrity are against accepted international principles, and tensions should be resolved through diplomatic and peaceful means.

In response, Iran’s Foreign Minister expressed gratitude for Afghanistan’s sympathy and outlined his country’s views and assessments regarding ongoing developments and actions taken by the Islamic Republic of Iran.
