Pakistani Military Jet Crashes in Jalalabad; Pilot Captured Alive

Nangarhar police headquarters announced that a Pakistani military jet crashed in the sixth district of Jalalabad city, and its pilot was captured alive. According to the spokesperson of the headquarters, the incident occurred within Nangarhar province territory.

Local Taliban-led officials have not provided further details about how the aircraft entered Afghan airspace or how it was targeted. Additionally, no specific information has been released regarding the health condition or whereabouts of the detained pilot.

This incident comes amid rising tensions along the Durand Line in recent months, with reports of sporadic clashes between forces on both sides. The Durand Line, a disputed border between Afghanistan and Pakistan, has always been one of the region’s sensitive security points.

Despite the significance of this development, the Taliban administration has yet to provide additional information on the legal and diplomatic dimensions of the incident, a matter that could impact the already strained relations between Kabul and Islamabad.
