Pakistan Bans All Drone Flights Nationwide Amid Retaliatory Attack Concerns

Pakistan’s Ministry of Interior has announced a nationwide ban on all unmanned aerial vehicle (drone) flights until further notice. This decision follows retaliatory attacks attributed to Afghanistan and, according to officials, has been implemented immediately.
According to Geo News, Pakistani authorities have warned that anyone violating this order will face legal action. The ban encompasses all personal and commercial uses of drones.
However, the use of drones by intelligence agencies is exempt from this directive. Officials have not provided further details about the scope of this exception.
Simultaneously, the local administration of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province has declared a 30-day ban on drone flights in open spaces within the province. The administration’s statement said that under current conditions, any drone-related activity—whether licensed or unlicensed—could pose a direct or indirect threat to the lives and property of citizens, government infrastructure, and public order.
