Taliban Claims 40 Pakistani Soldiers Killed in Border Clashes in Khost

Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesperson for the Taliban administration, claimed that around 40 Pakistani soldiers were killed in recent clashes along the Pakistan border. He announced this on Thursday evening, 7th of Hut, through a press release on his X (formerly Twitter) page.
According to Mujahid, Taliban fighters also took the bodies of 13 Pakistani forces with them. He further alleged that an important Pakistani military post in the Babrak Tani area of Khost province was captured by the Taliban.
The Taliban spokesperson added that several Pakistani soldiers were killed or wounded in the incident and a significant amount of weapons fell into Taliban hands. So far, Pakistani officials have not issued an official response to these claims, and independent sources have not verified the details provided by the Taliban.
Border clashes between Afghanistan and Pakistan have sporadically continued in recent years, frequently worrying residents of the border areas in both countries. However, the Taliban administration has not provided additional details regarding possible casualties among its own forces or the impact of these clashes on regional security.
