Pakistan Announces Immediate Response to Taliban Shootings Amid Rising Border Tensions

Amid escalating tensions along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border, Pakistan’s Ministry of Information announced that it has taken immediate and effective action in response to what it described as “Taliban forces’ shooting.” On the other side, Afghan security sources stated that in retaliatory attacks, 10 Pakistani soldiers were killed and 15 Islamabad military positions were captured.
In a statement, Pakistan’s Ministry of Information claimed that forces affiliated with the Taliban administration unjustifiably opened fire on border posts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, calling the action a “miscalculation.” According to the ministry, Pakistani forces are currently responding to these attacks.
A Pakistani security source also claimed that Afghan soldiers retreated from the three areas targeted by the counterattack. Conversely, Afghan security sources told the media that the retaliatory operations were carried out by them.
The increase in clashes in the border areas has heightened concerns about expanding insecurity and its impact on local residents. Critics believe the Taliban administration holds direct responsibility for managing border tensions and preventing escalation. They warn that the continuation of such conditions could have severe consequences for civilians on both sides of the border.
