Iran Offers to Facilitate Dialogue Between Afghanistan and Pakistan

Seyed Abbas Araghchi has announced that the Islamic Republic of Iran is prepared to play a collaborative role in facilitating dialogue and strengthening understanding and cooperation between Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Referring to the holy month of Ramadan, he described this time as one for self-restraint and enhancing solidarity within the Islamic world. He emphasized that it is appropriate for the two countries, Afghanistan and Pakistan, to manage and resolve their existing disputes within the framework of good neighborliness and through dialogue.
According to him, constructive dialogue and interaction can create the conditions to reduce tensions and expand regional cooperation. He stressed that Iran is ready to provide any necessary assistance to bring the perspectives of both sides closer together.
A new round of military and political tensions between Pakistan and the Taliban administration has raised growing concerns regionally and globally.
