Uzbekistan Boosts Flour Exports; Afghanistan Emerges as Biggest Buyer in 2025

The National Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan announced that in 2025, the country exported approximately 1.6 million tons of wheat flour worth 441.7 million US dollars to five countries, with the majority allocated to Afghanistan.

According to the committee’s newsletter, more than 1,590,000 tons of wheat flour were exported to Afghanistan, indicating that Afghanistan was Uzbekistan’s largest flour export market that year.

Uzbekistan, one of the Central Asian countries, has expanded its trade relations with Afghanistan in recent years, with the export of food products, especially flour and wheat, constituting an important part of these exchanges.

While Afghanistan remains one of the largest importers of Uzbek flour, the demand for basic foodstuffs within the country remains high, a significant portion of which is met through imports from neighboring countries.
