Taliban-led Afghan Embassy in Tehran Meets UNAMA Chief to Enhance Bilateral Cooperation

Mawlawi Fazl Mohammad Haqqani, the head of the Taliban-led Afghan Embassy in Tehran, met with Bojidar Dimitrov, the head of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) liaison office. According to the embassy, the main focus of the meeting was to strengthen bilateral cooperation.

The Afghan Embassy in Tehran stated that during the meeting, both parties emphasized expanding interaction and continuing coordination. No further details about the specific topics of the discussion have been released.

According to the press release, Bojidar Dimitrov described the infrastructural progress in Afghanistan and the consolidation of the country’s relations with its neighbors as valuable.

This meeting takes place while the Taliban administration has yet to be recognized by many countries, and international organizations’ interactions with the Taliban-led government mainly occur within the framework of humanitarian missions and technical coordination.
