Baloch Leader Condemns Pakistan’s Airstrikes on Afghan Civilian Areas

Harbiar Mari, leader of the Baloch Liberation Movement, has strongly condemned Pakistan’s air and drone attacks on civilian areas in Afghanistan, describing them as a blatant violation of international law. He stated that the continuation of these attacks targets Afghanistan’s territorial integrity and the rights of its inhabitants.
Mari criticized the silence of the international community, emphasizing that indifference to these events amounts to complicity with the “occupier.” According to him, this silence has allowed Pakistan to act with impunity, trampling on Afghanistan’s sovereignty and continuing its attacks.
The Baloch leader also referred to the historical background of the Durand Line, noting that if the international community had not remained silent during the forced separation of parts of Afghanistan’s territory by the British Empire, the region would not be facing such a geopolitical crisis today. He claimed that Amir Abdur Rahman Khan never accepted or signed this agreement, which has been repeatedly rejected by tribal councils (Loya Jirgas) for over a century.
Mari further condemned what he called Pakistan’s attempt to portray Afghanistan as its “fifth province,” viewing this as an effort to undermine Kabul’s sovereignty. He urged Balochs and Afghans to unite against what he described as “Punjabi supremacy.”
He went on to highlight the historical ties between the Balochs and Afghanistan, stating that the Balochs have played significant roles in various regional events, including resisting British forces in the Bolan Valley and supporting Mirwais Nika in the early eighteenth century. According to him, should an independent Balochistan be established, it would not permit its territory or airspace to be used for attacks on Afghanistan.
