Food Packages Distributed to 600 Needy Families in Ghazni During Ramadan

The Ghazni Department of Martyrs and Disabled Persons has announced that, in cooperation with a relief organization, food packages have been distributed to 600 needy families in the province. These aid packages were provided on the occasion of Ramadan with the aim of supporting impoverished families.
Sayed Mohammad Abu Irfan, head of martyrs and disabled affairs at this department, stated that each package contains 50 kilograms of flour, 50 kilograms of rice, 20 kilograms of sugar, 10 kilograms of beans, 10 kilograms of lentils, and 15 liters of cooking oil. According to him, these aids are allocated to the families of martyrs, disabled persons, and orphans.
During the distribution, a number of needy residents who gathered to receive aid complained about the difficult economic situation. They said that the rise in poverty and unemployment in recent years has posed serious challenges to the lives of many families. While such assistance is temporary, it is vital for needy families.
These aid distributions come at a time when many citizens accuse the Taliban administration of being incapable of managing the economic crisis and providing employment opportunities. Critics believe that the continued heavy dependence of families on charity aid indicates the absence of sustainable and effective support programs to reduce poverty nationwide.
