Digital High-Tonnage Weighing System Installed in Maidan Wardak

The spokesperson for the Taliban’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology has announced that a modern and standardized digital high-tonnage weighing system has been constructed and put into operation at the narrow intersection on the main highway in Maidan Wardak province. According to the spokesperson, this project was implemented by the General Directorate of Government Digitization in coordination with the Ministry of Public Works.

Enayatullah Alkhozi stated that with the activation of this system, the weight of cargo trucks will be legally and precisely recorded. The purpose of this measure is to prevent road damage caused by overloading and to create transparency in the process of controlling the tonnage of heavy vehicles.

He added that this system can also simplify and expedite the process of calculating revenues and taxes related to freight transport. The Maidan Wardak highway is considered one of the main transport routes in central Afghanistan, witnessing the daily passage of hundreds of cargo trucks.
