Trump Administration Seeks to Ease Tensions with Arab States Following US Ambassador’s Controversial Remarks

Israeli media have reported that the administration of Donald Trump is attempting to calm the anger and backlash among Arab countries following controversial remarks made by the US ambassador in Tel Aviv. This move comes after Mike Huckabee’s recent comments about the expansion of Israeli territory sparked widespread criticism across the region.
According to these reports, Washington has assured Arab governments that the statements were the personal views of the ambassador and do not reflect the official policy of the United States. The message was conveyed with the goal of preventing an escalation in diplomatic tensions, according to media sources.
Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the US embassy in the Palestinian territories stated that Huckabee’s comments “went off track” and emphasized that there has been no change in Washington’s policies toward Tel Aviv.
These developments come amid prior remarks by President Donald Trump, who also spoke about the limited size of land controlled by Israel and mentioned its expansion, remarks that provoked widespread reactions across the region.
Mike Huckabee recently sparked controversy by referring to the expansion of Israeli sovereignty from the “Nile to the Euphrates.” He later posted a message on social media attempting to clarify that the discussion took place during an interview with famous American host Tucker Carlson, claiming that the nature of the questions led him toward such responses.
